All India Confederation of SC ST OBC Organisations held a press conference on the issue of submission of the latest memorandum to Ms. Sheetal Nanda, Secretary to Social Welfare Department, J&K in which they demand sponsorship for various job-oriented courses for SC, OBC candidates.

RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation, said that the Tribal Affairs Department has been bringing a lot of initiatives for the vulnerable sections and we are grateful for that and congratulate the department for starting such initiatives for holistic development of the community. On similar lines, Kalsotra demanded programs for SC, OBC candidates too who are generally deprived because of social and economical conditions.
Kalsotra also highlighted the rising disparities due to increased privatization in education as well as employment sectors. It is becoming more difficult for SC, OBC candidates to not only get proper education and training but also lack representation in jobs across private and public sectors.
Initiatives of the Social Welfare Department can help bridge the gap and create a workforce of well-equipped youth who can contribute to the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.

He further said that the Confederation hopes that the Social Welfare Department will do the needful and start with a dedicated programme with representation from the SC, OBC community to lead the programme
