The East Clear Creek parcel, located in Coconino County, is one of 8 parcels of land that will be included in the land exchange. Approximately 640 acres along a perennial stream next to the Coconino National Forest. This parcel includes upland Colorado Plateau habitat and canyon riparian zones, supporting rainbow and brown trout fisheries and habitat for special-status species like the roundtail chub. The area also supports Rocky Mountain elk, mule deer, wild turkey, and black bear, making it valuable for both biodiversity conservation and recreational hunting and fishing.

The Resolution Copper land exchange is a key step in developing a safe, modern mining operation. As part of a congressionally mandated land exchange, Resolution Copper is transferring approximately 5,404 acres of environmentally sensitive and culturally significant land across Arizona to the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. In return, the company will receive approximately 2,422 acres of Tonto National Forest land, located directly above the area where Resolution Copper holds existing mining claims.
