At the end of the 12 th century king JAYAVARMAN VII built a royal bathing pool for himself. The pool is named Srah Srong.
The pool was used exclusively for swimming and bathing by the royal family. The dimensions of the pool are 780m by 380m. This pool was filled using and underground spring augmented with natural rain water.
In the middle of the pool is a small temple. When the pool filled with water only the top of the small temple can be seen. Today the original spring supplies minimal water and the remainder of the water in the pool is sourced from nature during rainy season. Because of the low supply of spring water during dry season one can fully see the small temple in the middle of the lake.
