The leader of Thailand’s opposition Move Forward party, Pita Limjaroenrat, says he is confident he has secured enough votes in the Senate to become prime minister. After a strong showing in the May 14 general elections, eight opposition parties won 312 seats in the lower house. Pita is reportedly set to form a coalition government, with lawmakers expected to vote to elect the new prime minister on July 13, 2023.
