Admiralty Pier Dover| Conger Fishing

A windy day hunting conger eel's on the admiralty pier in Dover.

It was a tough days fishing with a stiff NE wind and the dogfish out in force!
I aimed my new zziplex TBR at one species all day the backwards swimming, slime producing fish gobbling monster the European Conger. using 200lb snood line, 9/0 hooks and a whole mackerel. I had a bite near the start of the day with a strong pull down culminating in a few seconds of fight before the line went slack. It had come off! Undeterred I set up again....
With my other rod I aimed to get as many species as possible but the dogfish had other ideas with only a few whiting being caught amongst the dogs near the end of the day!
