A Chance Encounter Plants the Seed
Antonio Iozzo, founder and CEO of IUM, met Kenneth from Paced Motorsport during a chance encounter while upgrading one of his personal vehicles at another business. The project faced significant setbacks, and success seemed unlikely. An IUM staff member, aware of Kenneth's expertise, requested his assistance in diagnosing the issue. Kenneth began dedicating several hours each day, diverting his focus from his own business to help with Antonio's car. Remarkably, Kenneth did not seek any compensation for the time he spent away from his business, demonstrating a genuine willingness to assist.
Antonio was profoundly impressed by Kenneth's dedication and commitment to a project in which he had no financial stake, even at the cost of valuable hours away from his own business. To express his gratitude, Antonio visited Paced Motorsport's workshop in Edenvale. There, he found a business in distress, with rundown work areas, inadequate facilities, and tools and equipment in dire need of replacement.
Recognizing Kenneth's significant potential to excel in the automotive industry with the right support and resources, Antonio selected Paced Motorsport as an ideal candidate for what is now known as IUM’s Business Upliftment Initiative. This decision was driven by Kenneth's exceptional commitment and Antonio’s belief that, with proper assistance, Paced Motorsport could achieve remarkable success.
A Commitment to Community Empowerment
IUM's dedication to fostering innovation, excellence, and growth within the community began modestly with a logo rebrand and minor updates but quickly evolved into a comprehensive business transformation. The transformation of Paced Motorsport into Horsepower Motorsport included the following upgrades:
• Complete Workshop Renovation - This encompassed drywalling, lighting, electrical and plumbing upgrades, painting, new floor surfaces, additional rooms, and the installation of a new kitchen and bathroom.

• Exterior Facelift - The building's exterior was revamped to align with the new business identity, enhancing its visual appeal.

• Acquisition of State-of-the-Art Equipment - This included new car lifts, a compressor system, power tools, toolboxes, and more, ensuring the workshop was equipped with cutting-edge technology.

• Comprehensive Rebrand - A complete overhaul of the business identity, including a name change, new signage, and marketing materials, was undertaken to establish a strong brand presence.

• Development of Digital Infrastructure - This involved the creation of a new website, the implementation of new costing model templates, and the provision of computers and printers to streamline operations.

• Owner Training - Business management and accounting training were provided to the business owners to enhance their operational capabilities and ensure sustainable growth.
Through these substantial upgrades, IUM not only transformed the physical and operational aspects of the business but also empowered the owners with the skills and tools necessary for long-term success. This initiative underscores IUM's commitment to community empowerment and the cultivation of entrepreneurial excellence.
