While other racing series are complaining about declining registrations in view of the generally poor economic situation, the KW Berg-Cup is continuing to grow. 119 drivers from all over the German-speaking region entered the 16th season of the flagship series of German hill racing with their Group H and FS/E1 special touring cars. Six more registrations than in the previous year mean another record number of participants.
Thirteen hill climbs in Germany, Luxembourg and Austria were on the calendar for 2003. The Silvretta High Alpine Road Race in mid-May in the Austrian Montafon was on the program for the first time, replacing the canceled Gerlos Hill Race. Commentary: Thomas Bubel
