I first met Kemba in the late 80's and actually provided him with the exotic woods that he needed to craft his own instruments. That came full circle during this session where we became reacquainted and I was gifted with a beautiful Oja that he had made from the wood I had provided him all those years ago. He and his incredible family of musicians truly gave us inspired and authentic tracks throughout these recordings.

Stay tuned in the future for a stand alone piece titled "Unbent, Unbroken and Unshackled" The story of Ernest Shackleton and the ill fated Endurance Expedition of 1914–1917 , considered to be the last major expedition of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. An incredible tale of the will of man to survive and the strength of one man's efforts to bring every man home again.
