HOTEL TOUR: Tahoe Biltmore Lodge and Casino, Crystal Bay NV

Описание к видео HOTEL TOUR: Tahoe Biltmore Lodge and Casino, Crystal Bay NV

(6-30-2015) Here is my overview and review of the Tahoe Biltrmoe Lodge and Casino located along the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Crystal Bay NV. Included are a look at almost everything this hotel has to offer except for the casino due to it being illegal to film inside one in the state of Nevada.

Casino -
The casino here is very small at 30,000 sq ft. It was also not a popular place with very few people gambling inside even late at night. For anyone looking to gamble, I recommend staying at or near a casino in Stateline (south shore Lake Tahoe) or Reno.

Room -
The room was not very good. The beds were surprisingly clean and comfortable, but everything else was pretty bad. The carpet looked like it was from the 1980s, the curtains had sun eaten spots in them, the bathroom sink had a badly designed faucet that almost required you to touch your hands against the back of the sink bowl to get them under the water, the toilet was slow and old, and the room smelled slightly of cigarette smoke even though it is supposed to be a non-smoking room.

Amenities -
The pool was cold, the arcade had short hours, and the wifi was not able to be received in my room which was in the very last outbuilding. Air conditioning is also not standard in the lowest grade rooms. There is only one ice machine for all of the rooms which is located in the main building on the third floor.

ADA Compliance -
This hotel has a complete lack of ADA compliance. Steps are required to access even the ground floors of the outer buildings, there is no handicap lift for the pool, doorways are too narrow for wheelchairs, the elevator buttons are too high and do not have braille plates, and the phone in the elevator is not ADA complaint.

FUTURE -
This hotel is going to be completely flattened and rebuilt within a couple of years. It badly needs it since this casino/hotel has only received very minor upgrades since its opening in 1946. The only bonuses of the few and far between upgrades are the cheap prices ($70 a night in this area is low) and the completely original elevator. When finished with the reconstruction, this will probably be considered a five star resort with brand new rooms, casino, and park space. The focus of the then resort will be switched from gambling to fitness and recreation.
