エルヴィス没後20周年を数えた1997年、15歳でエルヴィス・プレスリーに出会った桐生さんは以来、ロックンロールの虜に。その実力はというと、アメリカで開催されたエルヴィスプレスリーコンテスト世界大会『 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest』に出場、アジア人初のTOP15入りを果たしたほど。

Daisuke Kiryu is the King - the King of Japanese Elvis impersonators. He's got the voice, the moves, and even the looks (almost). He lives each day as if he was Elvis Presley himself, which involves a rigorous schedule of voice training and dance practice to master the slightest details. The only thing missing is a pink Cadillac, but he comes close enough with his equally fancy Mitsuoka. Kiryu performs at least twice a month in his Elvis jump suit in front of a crowd of adoring fans, mainly senior ladies. Young people are starting to forget about the greatest entertainer of all time, Daisuke says, but that he plans to keep the spirit of the King alive.
