On the 6th Sunday after Easter, the Greek Orthodox Church commemorates the Sunday of the Blind Man. This day is dedicated to the miracle of Christ healing a man who had been blind from birth, as recounted in the Gospel of Saint John (9:1-38). It celebrates Christ's power and teaches that faith can open our spiritual eyes to God's light, both literally and figuratively, a reminder that Christ brings light to those in darkness, both physically and spiritually.
