Raynor Winn and the Gigspanner Big Band on the South West Coast Path

Our latest episode - out next week - features the author Raynor Winn teaming up with Peter Knight’s Gigspanner Big Band on the South West Coast Path in Devon. Raynor’s best-selling book “The Salt Path” tells how she and her husband became homeless just as he was diagnosed with a serious degenerative disease. Their response was to set out to walk the whole length of the very challenging South West Coast Path. Now Raynor has teamed up with the Gigspanner Band (which also features Hannah Martin and Philip Henry of Edgelarks and John Spiers of Bellowhead) to create a wonderful show combining her writing with songs from the South West coast. We went to eavesdrop on rehearsals and of course to take a walk along the Coast Path. The short film above gives you a taste of an evocative and inspiring episode.
