Bespoke Shetland 2024

A couple years ago now Roger was approached by a client who he had paddled with for a number of years. He expressed his interest in Shetland and asked if I could put together a course for him and his friends over a two week period with an aim of ten paddling days. Keith pulled a team together and we did a weekends sea kayaking on Anglesey in preparation as all new Keith but not each other.

This is your chance to experience and insight into sea kayaking along Shetland's coast and small islands. A superb sea kayaking location with crystal clear waters, sea stacks, big cliffs, huge caves, geos, gullies, arches, tunnels and outstanding wildlife - gannets, puffins, otters, dolphins, porpoises and the elusive orca! With its northern location, it's cooler, wild and very remote at times.

Roger visited Shetland back in 2016 and delivered his first sea kayaking adventure from a static campsite. He has returned every year since, sometimes twice and the only upgrade was booking sole use of a well-located hostel. He has also worked twice on the Shetland Sea Kayak Festival, which is a well-organised, busy and cheerful event.

The result was that we managed seven days on the water and filled the others with walking and exploration of the fascinating history of these islands. It was true pleasure to be asked to provide what Roger hopes will be a memorable adventure!
