Описание к видео Make Any Cookies with This One Cookie Dough Recipe

One Cookie Dough, endless flavour variations. From love hearts to stars, pinwheels to marbled masterpieces, the creative possibilities for these cookies are endless. Feel free to cut out any shape and dip them in your favourite coatings. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, gatherings, or simply satisfying your sweet tooth. Don’t forget to turn on the CC / SUBTITLES for the step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients:
For the Cookie Dough:
175g (3/4 cup) butter, softened
135g (2/3 cup) granulated sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
320g (2 1/2 cups) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt

Extra add-ins:
1 tbsp cocoa powder
50g chocolate to be melted
Drop of red food gel
1/4 cup icing sugar
Preferred crushed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts etc)
Toppings such as desiccated coconut and sprinkles.

Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and egg, continuing to mix until well combined.
Add in the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.

2. Divide and Chill:
Divide the dough into two equal parts.
Form each half into a disc shape, wrap them in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

3. Prepare the Love Heart Cookies:
Take one half of the dough (Disc 1) and roll it out. If it is still too hard, let it wait at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften a little.
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to create 8 love heart cookies.
Using the same heart-shaped cookie cutter, create 8 more love heart cookies. For half of them, cut out a small heart or circle shape from the centre to make Linzer cookies.

4. Prepare the Cocoa Stars & Walnut Cookies:
Take the other half of the dough (Disc 2) and divide it into 2 parts. Mix in 1 tbsp of cocoa to one of the parts.
Roll out the cocoa-infused dough and cut out 4 star shapes. With any leftover cocoa dough, mix in crushed walnuts (or any other nuts). Cut out cookies using your desired shape.

5. Prepare the Pinwheel Cookies:
Divide the remaining half of the plain dough into two parts.
Colour one half with red food colouring.
Roll out each half into rectangles, place them on top of each other, and roll them into a log.
Slice the log into pinwheel shapes.
With any leftover dough, you can make marbled cookies using your desired shape.

6. Bake:
Bake all the cookies in a preheated oven at 185°C (365°F) for 10 minutes. I baked mine in batches as you don’t want your cookies to wait in room temperature for too long.

7. Decorate:
Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
4 love heart cookies and 4 star shaped cookies (and perhaps the crushed walnut cookies) to be half-dipped in melted chocolate and topped with your desired toppings such as desiccated coconuts or sprinkles.
4 love heart cookies to be dipped in icing sugar, red food gel and water mixture to give the marbled look.
8 love heart cookies (4 with empty centres) to be assembled as Linzer cookies, using your preferred jam.

Please note that you do not need to follow all the steps. As long as you have made the base dough, feel free to decorate and bake your cookies the way you like them. Also, you can keep the dough in the fridge for up to 2 days, so bake them whenever you feel ready!
