Polk County man found guilty except for insanity in road rage murder case

A judge has sentenced Justin McAnulty, a man convicted of shooting and killing Dennis Anderson in July 2022, to guilty except for insanity for murder in the second degree.

According to court documents, McAnulty drove aggressively and tailgated Anderson on Highway 18. After being tailgated closely for a while Anderson pulled onto a gravel road to let McAnulty pass. McAnulty then allegedly pulled over and shot and killed him. Anderson was shot nine times according to the medical examiner's report.
