As Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced from the BU Theatre stage on June 9, 2016, “The Huntington Theatre Company is here to stay, on Huntington Avenue, where it belongs. This announcement sets the stage for the theatre to grow and to gain control of this historic venue where it’s been for over three decades. This is an exciting day for the entire city of Boston.”
