BEST DOUGHNUTS in LONDON: Doughnut Time, Dum Dum Donutterie, Krispy Kreme

This was an excellent Saturday to try some more doughnuts in London. The plan is still the same, to try all the most recommended doughnuts in London and bring an honest review. And possibly find the best one.

I started the day close to the Old Street in the Doughnut Time. I really liked the hole-in-the-wall concept of the Doughnut Time shop. Doughnuts looked great, but I was a little bit disappointed by how extremely sweet they were.

It’s always a gay time (£4.5) - This was the priciest doughnut of the day. But it was huge! And very very sweet.

Next was the Dum Dum Donutterie which is only a walking distance from the Doughnut Time at the Boxpark in Shoreditch. Dum Dum Donutterie is famous for its baked (not fried) doughnuts and cronuts. In my opinion, this was the best experience of the day. Very unique and tasty.

The Zebra (£3.75) - The Zebra is a cronut with excellent rich chocolate taste.

The Mini Selection (£1.75 per piece) - Boston Cream, Mixed Berry, and Peanut Butter & Jam. These small baked doughnut balls were excellent. Each filling was delicious, and I could tell that the ingredients used in them were excellent.

The last stop of the day was the well-known doughnuts chain Krispy Kreme. Doughnuts here were the cheapest doughnuts I had so far, but it came with a price. The filling in the Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme doughnut which I tried (and is one of the recommended ones on the internet) felt very artificial. However, the Original Glazed doughnut was an excellent value for money. Simple, classic, tasty doughnut.

Original Glazed (£1.55) - The classic, simple doughnut only with sugar glazing. In my opinion the best choice in Krispy Kreme.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme (£2.10) - Filled with peanut buttercream and with some chocolate layer on top. The peanut butter cream felt really artificial, and it was probably my biggest disappointment of the day.

It was definitely another fantastic day trying sweets and walking around London.
