Sathya Dharmasalai is a spiritual organization located in Vadalur, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded by Ramalinga Swamigal, also known as Vallalar, in the 19th century. Vallalar was a renowned poet, philosopher, and social reformer who advocated for equality, compassion, and the eradication of caste distinctions.

Vadalur is considered a significant place in the history of Vallalar and the establishment of his teachings. It was here that he established Sathya Dharmasalai, which translates to "Abode of the True Path." This spiritual center served as a platform for Vallalar to disseminate his teachings and promote his vision of a harmonious society.

Vallalar's teachings revolved around the concept of "Arutperunjothi," which translates to "Divine Light." He believed that this divine light resided within every individual and could be awakened through the practice of compassion, selflessness, and the pursuit of knowledge. Vallalar advocated for the eradication of social evils such as untouchability, discrimination, and the rigid caste system prevalent at that time.

At Sathya Dharmasalai, Vallalar established the Sathya Gnana Sabha, a hall where he conducted discourses and engaged in intellectual debates. He emphasized the importance of spiritual education and encouraged individuals to seek knowledge that would uplift their consciousness and lead them to enlightenment.

Vallalar also established the Jeeva Karunya Oli Mandram (Institute of Compassionate Service) at Vadalur. This institute provided free food, clothing, and shelter to the needy. Vallalar believed in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, and he worked towards the welfare and upliftment of society.

Even though Vallalar passed away in 1874, his teachings and the legacy of Sathya Dharmasalai continue to inspire millions of people. The organization continues to carry out charitable activities, promote spiritual education, and uphold Vallalar's vision of a society based on love, compassion, and equality.
