In May 2016, media personalities, including Channel 10 news anchor Candice Wyatt, and AFL players Andrew Swallow and Daniel Rioli, played a game of “Murderball” against members of the Australian men’s wheelchair rugby team, the Steelers, at the VIS.

Full of action, bravery, skill and strength, wheelchair rugby has been part of the Paralympic Games since Sydney 2000. It is fiercely contested on an indoor court by mixed teams of athletes with disabilities affecting the arms and the legs.
