Hidden Mother | Short Horror Film

A business woman in late 19th century England arrives at the estate of her latest client where she discovers a deeply unsettling secret.

Hidden Mother is a psychological horror/thriller set in England during the heyday of the Victorian era. Class society held the country in its grip. Gender roles were firmly established and mental health wasn't an issue to concern oneself with. The film deals with themes surrounding post natal depression, class society, patriarchal expectations, and a remarkable historical phenomenon called hidden mother photography.

This film is realized by young, independent Dutch filmmakers. With Hidden Mother we are taking a leap of faith and many of us are shooting our first shot for a place in the film industry.
