Yellow Pea Microgreens - Kratky vs Bottom Watering!?

In this experiment, CJ tests out two different hydroponic methods for growing Yellow Pea Microgreens to see the outcome!! We also planted the Pea Microgreens directly onto a mesh tray and grew them using no growing medium for both groups to see how they grow!

Both groups received the same Hydroponic Nutrient & water mixture - which was Farmers Pride Grow & Micro. (If your curious to learn more about our favorite nutrients as of 2022, check out our blog on this topic -- https://onthegrow.net/blogs/news/best...)

What we did differently was one group used a 1 inch deep Bootstrap Farmer tray as the bottom tray and we watered it using the classic "bottom watering method". As for the other group we used a 2 inch deep Bootstrap Farmer tray as the bottom tray, which creates a larger reservoir.

The group that has the larger reservoir is considered the Kratky method of Hydroponics where the roots get a constant supply of nutrient water and drink it up over time as their roots sit in it, rather then with bottom watering they drink it up right away.
