Handling Feet on a Weanling Colt (Episode 145) - Herm Gailey: A Lifetime with Horses

Using a whip or stick as an "arm extender" is a good, safe way to introduce a young horse to having his legs and feet handled. Add a soft rope, and you can extend the process of actually picking up your colt's feet without putting yourself at risk.
