In a day of dramatic developments, the CBI charged Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar medical college in the rape and murder case for evidence tampering and misleading the investigation. A local police officer was also arrested for delay in registering the FIR. these developments came as a a delegation of junior doctors was standing outside the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, where they were supposed to meet. Initially the disagreement was over the TMC government's refusal to livestream the proceedings. When the doctors finally agreed to attend the meeting with signed minutes of the meetings by both delegations, they were abruptly told it was too late at night to talk. The doctors left for home in the rain. They say they were told to leave because the news of Sandip Ghosh arrest gave "the west bengal government cold feet"
