Pep Guardiola gives views on Man City FFP charges hearing

Manchester City have learned that the hearing into 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules will begin on Monday, September 16.

The reigning English champions were charged in February 2023 concerning historical accusations from 2009 until 2018 of violating the league's Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. City vehemently denies all charges, with an independent commission reviewing them.

Manager Pep Guardiola was asked about the charges and his thoughts ahead of the hearing at today's press conference (September 13), ahead of Saturday's clash against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola was asked about his thoughts on the timescale of the case and whether he was concerned that the hard work of the players and club could be in danger, pending an outcome.

In response, Pep told reporters: "I'm not a lawyer."

He added: "I'm happy it starts on Monday," and said: "Everyone is innocent until guilt is proven."
