Graham's Cochlear Implant Journey

Описание к видео Graham's Cochlear Implant Journey

Graham Miller heard his mom’s voice for the first time when he got hearing aids at about 8 months old. Those helped him for a while, but when testing showed he wasn’t able to hear out of his right ear, he needed a little more help.

Graham, now 2 years old, received cochlear implants through The Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC. Cochlear implants are electronic devices implanted in the inner ear to improve hearing and speech.

“To give a child the opportunity to hear that wouldn’t have been there otherwise is an amazing feeling,” says UNC Hospitals otolaryngologist Matthew Dedmon, MD, PhD.

Hear from Graham’s parents, Dr. Dedmon and pediatric cochlear implant audiologist Erika Gagnon, AuD, about Graham’s journey to better hearing.
