Surprisingly common, but very easily ignored. But being able to sit this way with your knees fully bent is so important for the health of your knees!

The GREAT thing is it’s not that hard to achieve, it just takes a bit of time 😄

Grab yourself a pillow (or two) and place them on your calves - use however many you need to comfortably sit back without pain. The key here is to find the position that you feel a stretch, but you can still relax in that position.

This gentle approach is a great way to build your flexibility. If you just hammer yourself down by force you’ll get disheartened... and probably be sore too!

Aim to do it daily at a time that suits you (for example 5 minutes while watching Netflix in the evening) and when you feel ready, reduce the assistance you are using.

As you make progress, you can also try doing one leg at a time (putting your other leg out straigh) which will give you a bit more wiggle room

The nice thing about it is that once you get it, it’s pretty much there forever and becomes a nice position to sit in and chill your quads out 💪🏼
