The Slaws take their Hobby motorhome Helga on a motorhome stopover in the Peak District in Derbyshire. ‪@HobbyCaravan‬
The Ladybower Inn is an 18th century coaching inn situated on the A57 Snake Pass between Sheffield and Manchester.
Details of the stopover can be found on park4night and searchforsites. ‪@Park4nightplus‬
The drive over the pass is stunning and as the Slaws arrive the heavens open. It's going to be a wet walk!!!
Full waterproofs on and they set forth on a seven and a half mile walk around the Ladybower reservoir. Taking in the last remaining houses from the submerged village of Ashopton and the world famous Derwent Dam. Famous for being the practice site of RAF squadron 617 - the Dam Busters.
The autumnal colours are so pretty and the rain doesn't take anything away from the lovely walk. Billy and Jessie are sporting their Equafleece Polartec coats and they stay snug and dry!
Back to the pub, quick change and the Slaws cross the road for drinks and tea. Whoever expected Grandmother Willow and Harry Potter here 😁
It was a good meal. The steak and ale pie is highly recommended by Mrs Slaw and she can be a fussy beggar at times 😂
Back to Helga for red wine, cheese, biscuits and F1 qualifying.
It was a decent night's sleep. Only woken once by a boy racer who was driving something extremely throaty and fast over the dam 😱
Sunday dawned much brighter and after a lovely breakfast in the pub, the Slaws head up to the west tower on Derwent Dam for the sign off.
Thanks very much for watching!
