An exploration of dark atmospheric soundscapes and evolving rhythms using Ableton Live Instruments sequenced by ORCA.

First Variation is an highly evolved version of the first patch I had made in ORCA. Programming generative sequences frees you to focus on the sound and allows you to build complex sonic textures. ORCA is also great for sequencing drums. I had recorded this live performance in 2020 in my living room for an audience of one, my roommate's cat.

Every patch in ORCA is as much a visual performance as it is a musical one. Thank you ‪@HundredRabbits‬ for creating this beautiful language.
