Since 1982, Operation Smile has delivered the highest quality surgical care to patients worldwide, helping children and families at the most fundamental level – by delivering healthcare. Operation Smile’s vision was born when our co-founders, Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee, saw an overwhelming need for surgical care on their first medical mission. They made a conscious effort in their hearts to keep showing up, returning to help every child who deserves hope for a better life. As a result, this whole-hearted act has inspired tens of thousands of volunteers, supporters, and students to do the same.
