One thing that will impact us all no matter our age, gender, race, or socio-economic status, is death, for death is a natural part of life. And yet, we hesitate to talk about it, despite it being among the most important conversations we should have with our family.

In case you didn't know, a death doula is someone who helps people nearing death prepare emotionally and spiritually. They are also known as end-of-life doulas, transition guides, soul midwives, death midwives, or death coaches.

Carin has been a registered nurse for almost 25 years and has spent the past 3 years as a hospice nurse. She recently established a death doula consulting business with the goal of serving the needs of families and their loved ones as they transition.
