The guqin piece "Shen Ren Chang" is one of the only two guqin pieces recorded before the Tang Dynasty that feature "Chang" in their titles. The marvelous sound of the guqin moved the heavens, causing the deities to descend and join the people in joyful song and dance to celebrate the grand event. The melody of this piece is simple and robust, with a powerful rhythm. It describes the profound and magnanimous feelings of the gods towards humans. The piece's simple and natural primitive sacrificial dance rhythm gives it a vigorous and ancient style. The concept of "harmony between heaven and man" in traditional Chinese culture is fully embodied in this piece.
