This barge was one of 4 that separated from a southbound tow on the Mississippi river, May 9, 2024.
It was damaged when it struck a bridge piling and eventually sank.
The bridge was closed for a few hours pending inspections and was re-opened later the same day.
The rest of the barges were recovered without incident.
This video shows part of the salvage operation, i.e. transfer of cargo (corn) to another barge.
