It is so soft and fluffy and also good for toast and sandwich bread.
It contains lots of butter more than regular bread, so it's really savory and soft.

Butter bread
Pan 22x8x8 (cm) / 27x12x10 (cm)
/ Double size
Bread flour 300g / 600g
Sugar 50g / 100g
Instant dry yeast 6g / 11g
Salt 5g / 10g
Egg 1 / 2
Water 60 ml / 120 ml
Milk 50 ml / 100 ml
Unsalted butter 50g / 100g

Prepare Before ✓
* Butter and eggs at room temperature for more than 30 minutes.
* Grease the pan for easy removal.


1. Put bread flour, sugar, salt, and Instant dry yeast in a clean bowl and mix lightly.
2. Add lukewarm water and milk in 3 portions. Add the egg and mix. Make sure the dough should be moist that neither dry nor too sticky at this point.
3. Make a loaf of dough, and transfer it to the workbench and add butter.
4. The dough will be sticky after the butter is added. However, as you knead the dough, it will turn into a smooth. Knead the dough pushing it down and then outward. If it is still too sticky, sprinkle some bread flour. (1/2 Tbsp-1 Tbsp) Take a small piece of dough and slowly stretch it out in opposite directions. If the dough becomes thin enough to appear semi-transparent before it tears, it’s done. Put the dough in a clean bowl and cover with plastic wrap or wet cotton cloth.
5. Rise the dough until it gets double size in a warm place. (Depending on the temperature, the dough will proof in 1 hour, but it can take up to 1.5 hours.)
6. Transfer the dough to the workbench. Remove the gas from the dough and divide it into 3 parts. Shape the dough into a smooth ball of dough. Cover the top and wait for 15 minutes.
7. Remove the gas from the dough again. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and roll the dough from top to bottom. Pinch the joints and place it into the pan.
8. Rise the dough until the dough reaches the bread pan in a warm place. (About 50 minutes-1 hour)
9. Bake for 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 170℃(338℉) (When the top is even brown, cover with aluminum foil and bake the rest of the time. If you make double size, it takes about 3 to 5 minutes more to bake.)
10. Brush the surface well with melted butter.(optional)
11. Turn the loaf out onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely and cut.
