ABC chiefs have pulled Jimmy Kimmel's show off-air after the late-night talk host caused controversy with his comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death.

In his Monday night monologue, Kimmel appeared to falsely claim that Kirk's suspected assassin Tyler Robinson was a conservative - a comment that irked TV bosses.
