Welcome to Day 8 of 30 Days of Upper Body Yoga! Today’s session combines gentle stretches with focused strengthening exercises to support and open the upper body.
🌬️ Breath Awareness: Begin by settling into your breath, grounding your mind and preparing for gentle movement.
💆 Neck & Shoulder Release: Ease tension in the neck and shoulders, bringing softness and openness to the upper body.
🌱 Spinal Flexing: Bring gentle mobility to the spine, warming up and enhancing flexibility.
🧘 Wide-Knees Child’s Pose on Bolster: Settle into a deeply supported Child’s Pose, allowing the bolster/cushions to provide comfort and relaxation as you stretch.
🌸 Seal Pose: Open up the chest and shoulders in Seal Pose, lengthening through the spine and inviting a sense of spaciousness.
💪 Back Strengthening Exercise: Engage in a gentle back-strengthening movement, supporting posture and upper body resilience.
🐈 Cat Pose: Flow through Cat Pose to release and mobilise the spine, relieving any lingering tension.
🔥 Upper Body Strengthening: Build strength with a targeted upper body exercise to stabilise and support the shoulders and arms.
🍃 Banana Pose: Stretch into Banana Pose to lengthen the side body, encouraging deep, expansive breathing.
🌱 Āpānāsana: Draw the knees into the chest in Āpānāsana, massaging the spine and easing into relaxation.
🌟 Shavāsana: Finish in Shavāsana, letting the body rest and absorb the benefits of today’s balanced practice.
This sequence is designed to leave you feeling strong, open, and deeply relaxed.
