This weekend, we will find out exactly where No. 10 LSU softball stands when the Tigers head to Clearwater, Florida for the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational, where they will face five teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season, four of which are nationally ranked: No. 8 Nebraska, No. 23 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Duke, and No. 7 UCLA (rankings per USA Softball).

The Tigers appear ready for the challenge after dominating the Tiger Classic on opening weekend, going 6–0, posting two shutouts, 34 strikeouts, and outscoring opponents 49–11.

“It’s a challenge for sure. We’ve played in this before. We’ve played in some premier events here earlier in the season in the past, and it’s a really good measuring stick for where you need to be. It’s definitely not the tale of the season by any means in one weekend, but it’s a great measuring stick for some things you may need to go back and redesign, fix, or improve on. It’s a great spot to see where you’re at.” LSU head coach Beth Torina said.

The Tigers’ first game of the tournament is Thursday at 9:00 a.m. against Nebraska. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN2.
