Описание к видео 12 Months on the Allotment: The Ultimate Full Year Transformation

What a difference a year makes! In today’s video, I’m taking you on a journey through an entire growing season on my allotment.

From the frost and bare soil of January to the jungle of harvests in July, and back down to the winter prep in December—see exactly how the plot evolved month-by-month. You'll see my successes, the crops that didn't quite go to plan, and the massive amount of work that goes into keeping a plot productive all year round.

In this video, you will see:

The early spring sowings and getting the beds ready.

The "May Surge" when everything finally goes into the ground.

Summer harvests: Chillies, Aubergines, Onions, and more.

Dealing with pests, weather, and the "hungry gap."

Late-season harvests and putting the beds to sleep with mulch.

Whether you are looking for inspiration for your own garden or just want to see the satisfying progress of a year in the dirt, I hope you enjoy this recap!

Question for you: Which month is your favourite on the plot? For me, it has to be [Insert your favourite month]. Let me know yours in the comments!

Reflecting on the past 12 months, here are the three biggest takeaways that will change how I garden in the coming season:

Succession Sowing is Key: In the early months, I realized that sowing everything at once leads to a 'harvest glut.' This year, I’m spacing things out to ensure a steady supply of food rather than a mountain of veg all at once!

Soil Health = Plant Health: The beds where I spent more time adding organic matter and mulching with compost outperformed the others significantly. Feed the soil, and the soil will feed the plants.

Don't Fight the Weather: From late frosts to summer heatwaves, the weather is the one thing we can't control. I’ve learned to be more flexible with my planting dates and always have some fleece or netting ready to protect the more delicate varieties like my aubergines and chillies."
