It focuses on the key safety points that were not applied by the victim(s) when an accident happens. On a more positive note, they are also the avalanche safety points that are applied, need to be applied, in order to have a safer more enjoyable time on the mountain in winter.

The Guide demonstrates a method aimed at better applying these points. There is a scoring system that helps you to situate your decisions and objectives against a reference point: 'the approximate dangers level of daily actions like driving a car (for an hour or so).
