Stefano From Stefano's Espresso Care is showing how to Remove the Steam Valve Shaft from La Pavoni Lever machine
Many customers are "getting stuck" by the shaft getting stuck (he, he).
Once the counter nut and the shaft are simultaneously unscrewed as demonstrated, there is nothing else that will hold it in place other than the interior gasket. This gasket, which we refer to as p-23, will sometimes expand and deform, which can make it incredibly hard to pull out, giving a false impression that there is something else holding the shaft. You should not have to pull so hard that you break the shaft, as some customers have reported doing. Once you're certain the threads are completely unscrewed, i.e. there is no "thread" resistance when turning counter clockwise (versus possible resistance a deformed gasket might give), then simply pull straight out. Do not remove the knob prior to extracting the shaft as it will give you a better grip.
