HMS Daring tugged home during improvement works ⚓️

HMS Daring, the first in its class of Type 45 Destroyers with the Royal Navy, returns to Portsmouth after a year of engine work in Birkenhead.

The Daring-class destroyer has undergone Power Improvement Project (PIP) installation at Cammell Laird in Merseyside, located across the river from Liverpool.

The air defence destroyer, launched in 2006, and commissioned in 2009, was towed back to His Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth from Birkenhead by Tug Centaurus.

The destroyer will still need to be refitted. As you can see in the video, it is missing a radar dish.
