Hello YouTube!

Today is time to put our lens and try to figure out what is going on in that landmark for Metal Music!

In the video, I used the original audio stems to show you some hidden details in the mixing and the timbres used, but the main focus of the video is the explanation of the chord progression from the Chorus, which is as close to perfection as you can get when you think in terms of TENSION and RESOLUTION, and for me, those two words are the main fundamentals of music, which makes this song a perfect example of how music work in a deeper level.

Just developing a little further right here, the diminished chord (last chord in the chorus) is borrowed from another key, probably the parallel harmonic minor or harmonic major scale, this chord contains the harsher intervals you can have in ocidental music, the b6 is used in a really unique way here, and when it does resolve to a Major I Chord, the resolution is just so much better than a typical resolution to the minor i chord, which usually happen when this diminished chord is used in western music, so... the effect at the end is uplifiting, even though the tension of the moment is unriveled by basically any other functional chord.

The result is one of the greatest emotional music I've ever heard, and I hope this have cleared why you feel certain things while listening this song!
