This video tells the real-life story of how police and paramedics used British Sign Language (BSL) to save a woman, her unborn baby, and her toddler.

You’ll hear from the detective who was able to step in when it counted because of her experience learning British Sign Language (BSL) as a child, showing how accessible communication can literally save lives.

Detective Constable Megan Gittins was able to communicate directly with the victim, helping her tell her story in her own language. This video takes us through how the investigation unfolded, from when the 999 call came in, to bringing the offender to justice.
