A heavy hitter for you folks today - get ready for the hate comments.
Essentially, Magnacut was designed by Dr. Larrin Thomas and produced by CPM (Crucible Industries in NY, USA) in an attempt to make a more balanced steel than 154-CM. There's been all sorts of hype on Magnacut however they have not been transparent. As I point out, Magnacut DOES beat 154-CM in a few areas like corrision resistance and carbide structure...but at the end of the day, 154-CM still comes out on top for being the most balanced steel.
