Composite Cables Vs S-Video Cables For PS1 Games - Affro's Curiosities

Hello folks! Welcome to a brand new season!! Affro's Curiosities is back and hopefully it's better than ever!


In today's video I wanted to go over a better cable choice when it comes to retro games: S-Video!

It's not the absolute best cable and of course there's many variables that can influence video output quality but, S-Video is in my opinion the best cable to start with for gaming on older systems!

On a real PS1 then, I played a few games to see how they fared with composite and S-Video cables!

How did I capture PS1 Footage?
- ODV Upscaler using composite & S-Video cables set at line doubling mode
- Elgato HD60 S+ @ Maximum recording quality
- Used a Fat PAL PS2
