Sounds Sick Episode 51: Sound City 120 PA

Описание к видео Sounds Sick Episode 51: Sound City 120 PA

Welcome to episode #51 of Sounds Sick, the format, where we´re gonna present a bunch of cool and/or unusual stuff from our studio!
The videos show the sound that really let´s the amp/gear shine , in our opinion. Wether it´s a jangly clean tone or fuzzy rock sound.

This time we´re featuring the Sound City 120 PA, a 70s made all tube amplifier head.

The Sound City 120 PA, is a tube amp, that was originally intended for use as a PA Amp, with a very simple layout of 6 identical channels, which all feature a treble and bass control aswell as a channel volume. Luckily though, this amp also has a master volume, because it is sporting 6(!) EL34s in the power section, producing a very healthy 120 Watts of clean power!

Natural rocker!

Nice.
I like this amp, it doesn´t have a lot of gain, just enough too give you a mild crunch when you crank the channel volume. It´s simple, but that´s exactly what I love about it. you just turn it up, and it just sounds so naturally warm and organic, with just a little bite on top.
Perfect for doing something like Colour Haze! And because you have that much headroom, you will get actually bass, but that´s for another video. :)
