The German Workers Party (DAP) gained in popularity after the conclusion of World War 1 in Weimar Germany in the post-war era. The party was a socialist and communist party that was popular with the workers who mass-produced goods during the war. Socialist and Communist groups, like the DAP, were combated heavily by Freikorp and the two factions had many violent interactions with each other.
