In this video, we’ll explore the best squadmates to bring along for each mission in Mass Effect 2. For the purposes of this video, I’m approaching the best squadmates in terms of roleplaying and unique dialogue - not combat abilities. I’ll be covering the main story and relevant loyalty missions.

Alright let’s talk about loyalty missions. There’s a few things you should know about them. 1) All companions are required to come to their own loyalty mission - meaning you can only choose your second squadmate during these quests. Second, in roughly half of these quests, your other squadmate will essentially be a silent gun, helping you out in combat but saying absolutely nothing during cutscenes and dialogue. So for Garrus, Miranda, Samara and Zaeed’s missions - it doesn’t matter who you bring because they won’t speak. And Kasumi’s heist mission is unique in that you can’t bring a second squadmate period - it’s just her and Shepard.

For this video, we’ll just talk about the loyalty missions where a second companion may actually chime in.
