Magic Realm - Solo Amazon Playthrough - 2nd Edition Base rules - Intro and Setup

This is an introduction and set up video for a solo playthrough of the classic Avalon Hill boardgame, Magic Realm, which came out in 1979 and is still enjoyed by many to this day. This playthrough uses an actual physical copy of the game, the basic 2nd Edition Rules (no Advanced or Optional rules, no fan created material) using the official 2nd Edition rules for Solo play.

This is NOT intended to be a tutorial video (though I will be doing some explanations as I go). To learn how to play Magic Realm, I cannot recommend strongly enough this video playthrough by Jean-Michel Grosjeu:    • Magic Realm, full rules 1/7 : the Bas...   Not only is it the best tutorial series for Magic Realm, it also covers, with the exceptions of the changes for solo play, the ruleset I will be using in this playthrough.

This video is an introduction to the playthrough, looking at the map and set up, what character I am playing (the Amazon), the various play aids I use, and a little discussion about the strategy the Amazon will use. The remaining videos will cover the game week by week (game week). It also discusses the differences in the solo rules from the multiplayer rules.
