In this video, I have shown how to attach the PTH Resistor footprint with a resistor symbol.

If the component you need is present in the default library of diptrace, you can directly pick and place the component symbol in the schematic capture.

But in some cases, you may want to create your own footprint library. After designing those footprints, you should attach them to the respective component symbols. Right?

So that, you can use the component symbols to draw the schematic.
