Ultrasound-Guided Steroid Injection for Tendonitis - Crash course with Dr. Hadzic

Описание к видео Ultrasound-Guided Steroid Injection for Tendonitis - Crash course with Dr. Hadzic

Dr. Hadzic demonstrates an ultrasound-guided injection of methylprednisolone in a patient with acute Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (inflammation). Anesthesiologists are increasingly more often asked to help our orthopedic surgery colleagues, podiatrists, and their patients with ultrasound-guided injections. In this example, Dr. Hadzic administers an intra-sheath injection of Methylprednisolone in a patient with posterior tibialis inflammation. This can be curative in some patients, but it is sometimes considered controversial due to the risk of needle-tendon injury and tendon rupture. However, ultrasound-guided injection avoids the risk of tendon injury, and who is better suited than regional anesthesiologists with their ultrasound, sono-anatomy, and hand-eye coordination skills? Early treatment of this condition may prevent the development of adult-acquired flatfoot syndrome (deformity).
